Microsoft will release the next version of their development platform, Visual Studio 2008 by the end of November.  That means that come February 2008 the firehose will be opened once again from Microsoft with all three server releases will more than likely be available: Visual Studio 2008, SQL Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008.  And the dust really hasn’t settled yet on Visual Stusio 2005 and SQL Server 2005.

This latest version of Visual Studio will include the .NET Framework 3.5, LINQ, new tools for Microsoft Office programming and support for multiple versions of .NET but only from version 2.0 onward.

Note that J# will not be included as Microsoft has decided to drop support for it.
